Calvary Chapel Cedar Rapids Update - April 2008

Goings on…

Sundays 10:30 a.m. – We’ll be continuing through the book of Hebrews where we see the supremacy and sufficiency of Jesus Christ over all.

Wednesdays 7:00 p.m. – Going through 2 Samuel, a history of King David’s triumphs and defeats.  There are a lot of great lessons from this man who was “after God’s own heart.”  Prior to Wednesday service, we have a time for prayer from 6:00 to 6:45 that you are also welcome to attend.

Cinco De Mayo Potluck – Coming soon.  Watch for information

Men’s Group – On Monday April 7th we’re starting a men’s group.  We’ll meet at Steve Rittgers home at 7:00pm.  All men are welcome to attend.  The topics will vary.  Talk with Mike Newton or Steve Rittgers for more information.

Middle School Sunday School – starts April 6th during the morning service.  Robert and Julia Garcia are leading the class.

Fellowship Groups – will meet Sunday April 13th.  The groups meet at 6:00 PM.  The Abbotts are hosting one group (no childcare), and the other group will be at the Garcias home and child care will be provided there.  We’ll be discussing John 16, so read ahead and share in this fun time of fellowship.

Teen Youth Group – Meets twice per month on Sunday evenings at 6:00 at the Abbott’s house.  They are studying the book of Daniel.  Talk with Steve Kepford or Bob Abbott if you have any questions.  Next meetings – Apr 13th (Dan 11) and 27th (Dan 12).

Prayer Service – April 27th, and the last Sunday of each month, we hold a prayer service at 6:00.  Please come and spend some time just worshipping Him, and laying our requests before Him.

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.                              - Hebrews 12:1-2

God Bless You!
